Harvest Hub Ames is a non-profit organization with the mission: To improve community access to fresh, locally produced food by connecting residents with local farms through an online platform.

Consumer membership is open to individuals or organizations that support the mission of Harvest Hub Ames. Consumers pay $50 annual membership for access to the online shopping portal. This fee supports our weekly distribution cycle.

Producer membership eligibility shall be determined by the Harvest Hub Ames board based upon the needs of the organization. Producer members are required to disclose information on their products and practices so consumers can make informed buying-decisions. Full disclosure is required as part of the producer profile and product descriptions. A producer is responsible for obtaining all necessary permits and licenses, as well as paying all applicable taxes and fees, as required by state, federal, and local laws.

Consumer orders are a legally enforceable contract to pick up and pay for the products ordered unless the products are damaged or broken. Everything in a consumers online shopping basket when the order window closes becomes an order for those products. Note that consumers can remove products they have placed in their shopping cart if they do so before the ordering window closes.

Orders may be picked up from Optimae LifeServices at 104 S Hazel Avenue, Ames on Thursdays from 4:00-6:00 pm. Enter building from the entrance on the SE corner of the building. All orders must be paid for before members leave the pickup site; prompt payment is a condition of membership. Any orders not picked up will be donated to a local food pantry or similar organization; payment for the order is still required.
