Our story
I grew up on a small farm in SE Iowa, working with my family growing fruits and vegetables. I went to Iowa State for Horticulture and graduated in 2003. After graduation I was the wholesale grower at Holub Greenhouses in Ames for 7 years. Then I decided to get back to what I loved and that was fruits and vegetables. I was the farm manager at Berry Patch farm for 5 years when I finally decided to start my own farm. I currently own 6 acres and have 6 greenhouses and grow a wide variety of fruits and vegetables year-round.
Our practices and ingredients
The majority of my fruit and vegetable crops are chemical free. The few times I need to use chemicals; I used organic chemicals then if needed low toxicity chemicals. I feed my kids and family from our crops so I don’t apply anything that would be harmful to us.
Our products
For fruit we grow red and black raspberries, blackberries, tart cherries, peaches, strawberries, rhubarb, cantaloupe, watermelon, honeydew, and pears. Then for vegetables we grow sweet corn, peas, green beans, onions, radishes, tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, yellow squash, peppers, kohlrabi, pac choi, spinach, lettuce, kale, swiss chard, lettuce, collards, arugula, garlic, garlic scapes, asparagus, winter squash, basil, green onions, mint, cauliflower, broccoli, cabbage, micro greens, sweet potatoes, and potatoes.
We also have some freeze dried candy and fruits.
